How can I get Sky Anytime on TV?
We're always working hard to bring our customers the latest technology to enhance their enjoyment and experience of Sky. Sky Anytime on TV is available now to customers with a Sky HD box and to customers with the latest Sky+ box.
The most recent Sky+ boxes have a larger hard drive in them which means they can support the latest services that we have to offer, such as Sky Anytime on TV. You can check to see if you have a recent Sky+ box by doing the following:
The first 4 digits in the Version Number field will tell you what type of Sky+ box you have and you'll then be able to determine if you can receive Sky Anytime on TV. Boxes with version codes 4F21, 9F22, 4E21 and 4E30 will be able to receive this service. Unfortunately those with codes 4F20, 9F23, 9F21, 9F20 & 4E20 will not.
How much does Sky Anytime on TV cost?
Nothing! It’s no extra charge for anyone that subscribes to Sky and has a Sky HD box, or the most recent Sky+ box, with the relevant subscriptions.
What will I be able to watch through Sky Anytime on TV?
Sky Anytime on TV will showcase up to 40 hours of some of the best programmes that Sky has to offer each week. You'll get a choice of entertainment, movies, documentaries and children's programmes.
Why does my friend have a Sky Anytime on TV Programme that I don't have?
Because of the way Sky Anytime on TV programmes are sent we can't guarantee that every box will record the same Sky Anytime on TV programme. Also, different Anytime programmes are offered to HD customers - this may explain the difference.
The MiniTV is the TV screen that appears in the top right hand corner of the Sky Anytime on TV listings menu. This screen shows a trailer for the Sky Anytime on TV programme you have highlighted.
Why don't some Sky Anytime on TV Programmes have trailers in the MiniTV?
The MiniTV only plays a trailer if the Channel has made one for the programme.
It takes a few days for Sky Anytime on TV to record a full set of programmes - don't worry, you will have the complete set of programmes within a week.
Sky Anytime on TV is all about giving you more value from your existing channels. If you want to see the programme you'll need to upgrade your viewing package to include the channel that it's on.
If you have an HD box, you will need an HD subscription to enjoy the HD Sky Anytime on TV.
This is as a result of our new Sky Anytime on TV service, as programmes are being downloaded to your box. If it is annoying then you can opt out from Sky Anytime on TV by accessing the Services > 6. Sky Anytime on TV Service Set up and change the option to "No". Please remember that once you do this, you won't be able to enjoy any of the programmes offered through Sky Anytime on TV. You can of course get Sky Anytime on TV again by reversing this step, but it will take a few days for the programmes to be recorded onto your box again.
This is a new feature of your Sky+/HD box - we've introduced an Auto Standby mode to help you save power and the environment. If you want to switch the Auto Standby feature off you can do so by accessing the System Setup screen.
Why can't I get Sky Anytime on TV with my Sky+ box, when my neighbour can get it with theirs?
Only our most recent Sky+ boxes support Sky Anytime on TV, and the service is now being rolled out to these over the coming weeks. For instructions on how to check if you have a recent Sky+ box, please refer to "How can I get Sky Anytime on TV?" in the Getting Sky Anytime on TV section above.
We are continuously improving Sky+, and to enable us to make improvements and to offer you more and better services in the future we have reserved part of the hard drive on your box. Sky Anytime on TV is just the first service available to you that makes use of this reserved part of the hard drive. Because of this, even if you opt out of Sky Anytime on TV, you will not be able to use the reserved part of the hard drive to increase the storage space available to you.
Why have my manual recordings disappeared from the Sky+ planner / are no longer happening?
It is possible that the latest software download of Sky Anytime on TV to your Sky HD box has deleted your manual recording(s) from your Sky+ planner. If this is the case then all you have to do is set the recordings up again and they will work.
This is because your Sky HD box has only recently been installed (or you have just enabled Sky Anytime on TV) and there has not been enough time for the programmes to have reached your box. If it has been a few days since you have had your box installed (or since you have enabled Sky Anytime on TV) then please check that you have a Sky+ subscription set up.
Do Sky Anytime on TV programmes carry Subtitles and/or Audio Description?
Anytime programmes and films with subtitles and/or Audio Description provided by the channel will display them according to your settings in Services.

Can I record Anytime programmes onto my Sky+ Planner?
Sky Anytime on TV programmes and films will generally be available to view via the Anytime listings for one week. The exact duration is shown in the ‘Available Until’ column.
These programmes can be recorded onto the Sky Planner. To place a programme in the Planner highlight the programme and press Record. This means programmes can be kept for as long as required but you will need enough disk space to record the programme.
